Community Work
Dr. Landscape Inc. believes that our success includes helping others, inside and outside our immediate community. We believe strongly that there is an obligation to give others the opportunity to succeed, through various means. It is with great pride that we participate in and spear head several programs related to community and charitable functions.
Dr. Landscape Inc. Annual Daily Bread Food Drive – We began this project in 2014. It has been very well received by our clients, staff and peers. The program has grown with our Peers and business associates and now includes 5 other companies. Since the start of the event, we have have donated over 15545 lbs of non perishable food along with over 7300 full meals. We are very proud to have our friends at Dutchmaster Nurseries Ltd, Valleyview Gardens Nursery, Moonstruck Lighting, Parkview Building Supplies, Central Tree Care also joining us.
Tree Planting – We regularly have surplus stock and inventory which often will not overwinter if not planted. We took these issues to create opportunities and contacted local schools, community groups, charitable groups and Landscape Ontario. Over the last 15 years, we have donated trees to three local schools, several private residences, Trees for Life (c/o Mark Cullen and Landscape Ontario), Charity planting through RA groups and community groups, etc.
Outdoor Elementary School Classrooms – With Covid, there was a need to spread kids out from within school classrooms and indoor settings, and utilize outdoor space to allow grade school children to be at school but also to allow more space between students.
With our associate company, Central Tree Care, we were able to prepare and deliver enough seating, made from reclaimed logs, for a natural outdoor classroom setting for 4 classrooms. The outdoor classrooms also have created opportunities to teach young students about nature and the outdoor environment.
The outdoor classrooms also serve as places where children can socialize and play through the day.
Community Tree Planting Events – Dr. Landscape Inc. participates in several tree planting events through the Cliffcrest Community and Surrounding area. These events are organized through the local Residents Association and community groups. The goal is to present awareness and education with respect to the health and environmental benefits the Tree Canopy provides throughout the City.
